Discover the ancient city of the Dukes of Brittany during your stay in our hotel in Vannes

Ideally located only 10 minutes walk from the historic city centre of Vannes, the hotel Anne de Bretagne welcomes you for your tourist stay or a romantic or family weekend.

Rich in history, the city of Vannes has preserved its medieval heritage over the centuries: discover all the places not to be missed in this city of character!

Medieval centre of Vannes: what to visit

The city walls
Built between the 3rd and 17th centuries, the fortifications of Vannes have seen the centuries and history go by.

Three quarters of these fortifications are still standing today and are magnificently well preserved. To highlight this historical heritage, a beautiful and large garden runs alongside the ramparts. Accessible to the public, it is a pleasant walk for families or lovers.

Our favourite ❤️: the Garenne washhouses located to the south of the rampart garden. Listed as a historical monument and open to the curious, you can sit there for a break.

The gates of the fortified town
Former vestiges of the city's fortifications, these gates are now part of Vannes' urban landscape. You will find on your way during your discovery of the city :
  • The Poterne Gate
  • The Prison Gate
  • The Calmont Gate
  • The Saint-Vincent Gate

The historic centre
Lose yourself in the narrow streets of the old historic centre of Vannes! You will discover many beautiful and colourful half-timbered houses and cobbled streets. You can stop at one of the many cafés and restaurants to enjoy the place to the full.

Finally, stop for a moment in front of the city's emblematic couple: Vannes and his wife, a sculpture carved into the façade of a 16th century building. You will find this must-see at the intersection of rue Bienheureux-Pierre-René-Rogue and rue Noé.

Don't wait any longer and book now your stay or your weekend in the city centre of Vannes at the hotel Anne de Bretagne!
